Oliver Kahn is well known worldwide as one of the greatest German Goalkeeper. Throughout his 20 year career he assisted his team with two assist. However the new German Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer only 24 years of age has already made 3 assist. One of which was the spectacular asset during the world cup match against England! And he stunned everybody, with his impressive kick, with the ball flying almost ¾ over the field towards his team mate Klose. Apparently in a recent article he had said that he had not intended to do this. But this does not matter as this clearly shows how talented he is.

Neuer was picked as Number One choice for Germany after his fellow team mate Rene Adler (who was meant to be Number One at the world cup) was forced to step down after suffering a rib injury. Because of this, Neuer was given a chance to shine and he did! He showed the whole world how very gifted he was and soon after that, it was clear to everybody that he was a serious contender who can only develop further.

Manuel Neuer along with Tim Wiese were selected by the German coach Joachim Loew, to be part of The German Squad for all future matches. Joachim Loew was condemned for not letting Adler to be part of the squad because of the fact that he was meant to be the Number One Goalkeeper.
